The multi-rate springs in our product have varying coil spacing, resulting in a variable spring rate. This allows for easy compression for the first few inches, but as more force is applied, the coils come closer together, increasing the stiffness. Once the coils at the bottom 1/4 of the springs touch, the spring becomes inactive and even stiffer. This design allows for compliance on small bumps while providing control for off-roading, hard braking, and turning. The more force applied, the higher the rate increases, making these springs perfect for achieving maximum performance while still providing a comfortable drive. For 2010 trucks, we have found that using a Linear rate coil is ideal for the heavier 4th Generation vehicles, providing a smooth and supple ride while maintaining maximum performance.
