The factory rear shock mounts may be enough for 2.5″ remote reservoir shocks, but once the valving starts to stack up or larger shocks are installed, it's best to consider reinforcing the driver's side upper, rear shock mount. Our option, made of fully boxed and welded 3/16″ Cold-Rolled Steel Construction, is even stronger than the cross member you'll be welding it onto. For extra durability, we also recommend triangulation of the Carli Driver shock mount/crossmember/frame rail.
The passenger side shock mount has always proved sufficient but, removing the bed and prepping for weld is such a process, we designed and fabricated a matching mount to weld in on the passenger side for cheap insurance. This mount requires no additional triangulation or gusseting.
