If you plan on installing valving larger than 2.5" or stacking up valving, it's important to address the limitations of the factory rear shock mounts. To ensure durability, our CARLI SUSPENSION 03-12 RAM 2500/3500 4X4 WELD-IN REAR SHOCK MOUNT, PASSENGER is made from fully boxed and welded 3/16" Cold-Rolled Steel. This guarantees a strong mount that can withstand abuse. We also recommend triangulating the Carli Driver shock mount with the crossmember and frame rail for added support.
The passenger side shock mount has always proved sufficient but, removing the bed and prepping for weld is such a process, we designed and fabricated a matching mount to weld in on the passenger side for cheap insurance. This mount requires no additional triangulation or gusseting.
